Philosophy

We believe as a school and a community that our attitude about what we do and how we feel about ourselves is often influenced by what we wear. The School is proud of its efforts to serve a diverse population of students. The school uniform is one method we use to level the playing field for all of the students who attend Ross Global Academy. Wearing a common uniform also can serve to develop a strong sense of community and school pride.

While we recognize that many students are creative and enjoy expressing their uniqueness through their attire, we feel that students are given many different opportunities to be creative at Ross Global Academy. We have put together a school uniform that offers choice, while still maintaining an appropriate standard of dress. The school uniform and the dress regulations will be strictly enforced to help provide an environment where children feel equal and are not distracted or offended by what other students wear.

Substitute clothing items may not be worn. Exceptions may be necessary upon occasion such as the wearing of boots during the winter months. All exceptions will be made only by prior approval through the principal. All students should mark their personal possessions and clothing with their name in an inconspicuous spot for future identification if lost or misplaced.

  • Optional Uniform Items

  1. Navy vest with logo
  2. Navy crew sweater with logo
  3. White turtleneck with logo

Observance

All faculty and staff will oversee observance of the school uniform. Students who violate the school uniform may be detained until their parents bring them a change of clothing. If this is not possible, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken at the discretion of the Principal.. When any question of proper dress arises, the Principal will adjudicate. It is important for a student to understand that repeated problems with adherence to the dress code cease to be a dress code issue and become instead an issue of lack of cooperation and respect for the community. A student who has been warned previously about dress code infractions and continues to violate the community standard may be deemed as indicating he or she is not ready to be part of the Ross Global Academy community and that student will be sent home. In all cases, the Administration will determine the appropriate course of action and penalty for repeated violations.
